My whatsapp stopped working !

Less than an hour to the new year 2016 Whatsapp messenger stopped working. I was chatting up with my friends using the application and I needed to block one of my contacts who kept sharing annoying images but suddenly my Whatsapp messenger could not complete the process.

So why is my Whats app down? 

At first I thought that my Samsung phone that runs on android was not functioning as it should  and I restarted it. The problem persisted.

New year wishes

I knew I wasn't alone when Ilogged into my Facebook and on my feed there were several friends with the same problem. I thought to myself that probably there is a surge in Whats app messenger users sending their friends and relatives new year greeting and best wishes and the application was getting overwhelmed.

Went online in search of a solution

I went online and tried to see if google had an explanation to my problem. I tried Downdetector to check if the problem was global. Yes, we are all experiencing the same problem.

So how do i fix my whatsapp?

There is nothing really you can do to fix your whatsapp at the moment. All you can do is chill and wait for the techies on their side to work on it. Quit restarting your phone. Don't bother refreshing it either. It's not your fault. You can't fix it at the moment.

Lets celebrate the new year 2016

That's what I am doing. With a glass of vodka. Forget Whatsapp, for a moment. Think about the Syrian children and women crossing the roughest of seas in rubber boats to escape death at the moment. Think about the people who cannot afford the luxury of sleep as they keep vigil to fend off ISIS.

Yes, they are people like you, just born into a different world.

Your world will not end because your whatapp messenger stopped working for a night. Do something with your life if you are privileged enough.

Here is a great idea for 2016. Adopt an orphaned baby elephant at sheldrickwildlifetrust and help save these beautiful animals getting exterminated by us greedy humans.

Do something this year.

Don't just sit and worry about a text messenger that will be fixed in a few hours. I hope I saved you some worrying for today.

To help you sieve through the huge amount of information about Windows 10, here is what is new in Windows 10 that you need to know about. It is Free. Yep. It doesn't cost you a dime to have this operating system on your PC, or tablet, but only if you had a genuine version of windows 7, or 8.1, previously, otherwise the set retailer prices apply. While releasing it, Microsoft announced that users only needed to upgrade to windows 10 from the previous windows versions. The system will however be free for only 1 year. Cortana application. Send emails, ask for directions or check the weather in your town without touching your keypad to type search commands. Hardware requirements. The primary requirements for Windows 10 to run on your PC are: 1GHz processor, at least 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of hard drive space. Users whose machines are already running windows 7, 8 and 8.1 should be alright as the same requirements meet the standards required to run Windows 10. Microsoft Edge replaced windows explorer Internet explorer is not replaced per se, as Microsoft needs it around for compatibility reasons but a new version of a browser that can compete with modern browsers is up.There is a joke that people use internet explorer only to download other preferred browsers. Well, Microsoft is working hard to correct that with the new Edge. Support for virtual desktops. Microsoft Hololens goggles now allows users to actively interact. You can play Mine-craft using Hololens, and experience the 3D gaming thrill, or use the Holostudio software to develop some exciting 3D applications. Improved Gaming experience Gaming using Microsoft operating system is destined for a major overhaul with windows 10. DirectX 12 API which comes with windows 10 offers some gaming experience like never before available for windows users. More efficiency ensures a smoother and better performance for gamers. The game DVR mode in this new Windows even allows recording for the last 30 seconds of game play, a good incentive for social gamers to try out the new Windows. Most windows phones will be covered. The slogan is “One windows for all”, and Microsoft made sure that most windows phones would work well with windows 10 and in tandem with other windows devices. Universal Microsoft Office applications. Previously, free productivity applications like Google docs had the monopoly in this niche. Nails and you

Many health conditions are very visible in the nails. Their condition can tell you how long you’ve been ill, since fingernails need six months to grow, and toenails a full year. Even nail-biting can be an indicator of mental health. Lung disease and lymphedema can cause yellow discoloration, while psoriasis can look like fungus. Bands, lines, as well as changes in color, can also indicate illness. Paying attention to your nail health is important, because this way you will know what changes your body goes through. Here are some of the most frequent things that can happen to your fingernails.

1. Clubbing nails

 This occurs when the tips of the fingers enlarge and the nails curve around the fingertips, usually over the course of years. Nail clubbing is sometimes the result of low oxygen in the blood and could be a sign of various types of lung disease. This is also associated with inflammatory bowel disease, cardiovascular disease, liver disease and AIDS.

2. Spoon nails

Nails seem scooped out. You can do an easy test and squeeze one or two drops of water from an eye dropper on the center of your nail. If the water sits on top rather than sliding off, it’s spoon nails. Spoon nails signify a deficiency in iron. The blood supply doesn’t reach the middle of your nail to make it grow. In some cases, spoon nails can be a sign of heart disease or hypothyroidism, a condition marked by an under active thyroid gland.

You need to see your doctor and get the appropriate blood check to see what kind of deficiency is behind it. Iron supplements will be prescribed. If your thyroid is out of work, your endocrinologist will work with you to get it sorted out.

3 Dark vertical bands

Dark lines of color running top to bottom, possibly darker at the base of your nail. Pigmented vertical bands are common in dark-skinned people and they can also be benign moles in the nail bed. A single new or changing band can be a malignant melanoma which can be a potentially deadly skin cancer.
If the bands continue to change or darken, see a dermatologist immediately.

4. White patches/dots

Small white dots that appear to be on the surface, but when you try to buff them away, they won’t budge. White dots on the nails are usually due to some type of trauma (banged finger or a too-aggressive cuticle trim). Give your nail some time to grow out and fade. If the dots aren’t going away, because this may also be a sign of fungal infection.

5. Yellow Nails

Nails will have a subtle or dramatic yellow tinge.
The reason can go from nail fungus, psoriasis, or stains from smoking. In some cases, ladies who paint their nails with dark nail polishes often have this problem.

If your nails are stained, soak them in denture cleaner will remove the stain. If the yellowing persists is still there (often accompanied by pain), it could be a fungal infection. Fungal infections can be tricky to conquer, especially if it’s been ignored. Yellowing is also seen in psoriasis patients, as a side effect of certain medications, and a result of a rare condition called yellow nails syndrome. If you notice a change in your nails, see your doctor.

 6. Weak splitting nails 

If you can break or bend your nails easily or they are easy to peel off, than it’s a warning sign. Brittle nails can be related to advancing age, or a sign that they’ve been over processed due to harsh manicures, acrylic nails, or gel wraps. Vitamin A deficiency is another reason (it helps your body process protein and is a key ingredient in your nails). Give your nails time to breathe. Stay away from the nail polish or the salon. Also frequent dish washing can be harsh for your nails. If none of this help, it’s time to see the dermatologist and get a detailed diagnosis.
